Achot Member Guidelines

These are the guidelines for Achot, the national/international sisterhood of the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations.  Since Achot is under the auspices of the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations we have no need to be incorporated but we do have a need for by-laws and procedures of how Achot is to organized and run.  The following constitute the by-laws and procedures.

Article 1- Name

Achot, Hebrew for sister, is the official name of the National/International Sisterhood of the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregation.

Article II- Purpose

  1. Achot is to be an arena to edify, equip and educate the women of the UMJC.  It also will promote the women becoming more connected with one another.  The sisterhood will provide educational forums, discussion groups and training in many areas of our spiritual walk in Messiah.  Achot will be a place to encourage each other strengths and build up individuals which in turn will strengthen the member sisterhoods, their congregations, the Union Of Messianic Jewish Congregations, the body of believers and the Jewish people.
  2. By connecting women from many member congregations, women will become a viable part of the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations, thus helping to further the goals of the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations.  Providing a stronger voice for women inside the Union will bring about a greater sense of empowerment in helping to fulfill the Messianic calling.
  3. Achot will sponsor on-going national/international tzedakah projects to reinforce the previous goals and to give action to our desire to be a light to the world.
